Greater Copenhagen is raising the bar for innovation of smart urban lighting with the ground-breaking Lighting Metropolis project.
Lighting Metropolis is a partnership between Greater Copenhagen’s municipalities and universities, inviting international and local companies to create a world leading hub for smart urban lighting.
New standards for innovation and sustainability
The aim of the Lighting Metropolis project is to set new standards for innovation, uniting public and private sector partners and making city spaces and buildings available to development, test and demonstration.
On top of that Lighting Metropolis’ some 20+ demonstration projects have a focus on energy efficiency, environmental impact, life cycles or sustainability.
The world’s largest 1:1 test lab for urban lighting
At DOLL living lab intelligent controlling and smart city solutions are tested in 1:1 test facilities offering a real-life urban environment with road and pathways, as well as testing of indoor mock-ups in settings such as senior housing, hospitals and schools.
